Mali National U-20 team recorded a slim victory over Burkina Faso during the second match-day in Group B of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations ongoing in Niger.
Mamadou Traore scored the only goal of the meeting in the 52nd minute to keep the qualification hope of the Malians alive in the competition.
Mali now joins Ghana and Senegal who meet in the other group encounter today on three points each as Burkina Faso are eliminated.
The team of Mamoutou Kané engage Ghana on Saturday in the last round of matches to end the group play.
The game saw both teams creating limited goalscoring opportunities but Traore’s decisive effort proved to be key for the Malians.
