Kumasi, Jan. 09, GNA – University of Cape Coast (UCC) achieved a 100 per cent record in the men’s volleyball event at the on-going Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games after a 3-1 defeat of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) at the Paa Joe Stadium in Kumasi on Monday.
With the victory, UCC sits at the top of the standings with 12 points and in a pole position to claim gold, having only one match to spare.
University of Education- Winneba (UEW) is in the second position with nine points, while University of Ghana (UG) and University for Development (UDS) are tied in the third position on three points apiece.
The host, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and IPS have zero points and perched at the bottom of the log.
In the men’s soccer event, UG and UEW have taken pole positions on the standings with eight points apiece, with the UCC occupying the second position with six points and KNUST third on five points, while UDS and IPS share the fourth place with three points apiece.
