The Paris 2024 Olympic Games were filled with excitement and showcased incredible skills, with many athletes impressing the global audience.
At the conclusion of the games, the United States of America (USA) topped the medal table, securing 126 medals, including 40 gold, 44 silver, and 42 bronze.
China followed in second place with a total of 91 medals: 40 gold, 27 silver, and 24 bronze. Japan secured third place with 45 medals, comprising 20 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze.
The host nation, France, finished in fifth place with 64 medals: 16 gold, 26 silver, and 22 bronze. Despite reaching many finals, the French athletes often fell short of victory.
Great Britain, traditionally a strong contender in the Olympics, finished in seventh place with 65 medals: 14 gold, 22 silver, and 29 bronze.
Kenya was the only African country in the top 20, finishing seventeenth with 11 medals: 4 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze.
The US dominated many events, with highlights including Noah Lyles winning the highly contested Men’s 100m, the women’s football team defeating Brazil in the finals, and the men’s basketball team winning their final match in grand style.
The next Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles, US, in 2028.
