Uganda are expected in Ghana today (Thursday) ahead of their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Black Stars on Saturday.
Ahmed Hussein, the FA’s spokesman told MTNFootball.com on Wednesday that the team will leave Niamey, Niger on Thursday evening to connect to Accra.
“The team should be in Kumasi by Friday where the game will take place,” he added.
The Cranes, who lost 2-0 to Niger in an International friendly on Tuesday night, will be hungry to get a good result against the Black Stars who participated in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The visitors will be hoping that they can get another good result in Kumasi like they did in 2003 when they managed a 1-1 draw in a Nations Cup qualifier.
Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s team will however miss their prolific striker Geoffrey Massa.
The University of Pretoria striker has been left out of the squad after his club could not release him early.
“We have sent him a ticket and he is meant to be on the flight to Uganda today and report to camp to train with the other players who remained behind ahead of the Guinea game on September 19th,” said Hussein.
