Ghana’s Black Princesses have been handed another walkover in the 2014 Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers as second round opponents Uganda withdraw due to financial challenges.
Ghana advanced to face the winner of Zambia-Equatorial Guinea second round qualifiers after the Uganda FA officially communicated its decision to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) with the continental body duly informing Ghana about the situation.
The third and final round of the 2014 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada is set for the weekends of 10 and 24 January 2014. Africa has two slots for this competition.
The Black Princesses are however still in camp and are scheduled to play Namibia in a friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.
