Accra, Dec. 10, GNA - The national U-15 Cricket team on Friday left for Ibadan, Nigeria to participate in the forthcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) North West Africa Junior Regional tournament. The Ghanaian team will compete alongside six others including hosts Nigeria, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Cameroon and Mali in the tournament that spans 11-15 December, 2011.

The Ghanaian team will compete alongside six others including hosts Nigeria, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Cameroon and Mali in the tournament that spans 11-15 December, 2011.
Francis Asare, Acting General Secretary of the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) told GNA Sports that the 14-man team made up 12 players and two officials will represent the nation at the five-day event. He said the tournament offers the GCA the opportunity in fulfilling partly some requirements by the ICC towards attaining the Associate membership status by 2012. The team is expected to return home on Friday, December 16, 2010. Ghana emerged champions in a similar tournament held in Nigeria in 2005. 10 Dec. 10
