Nine girls and 10 boys of the National U-17 team have been selected by the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA)
to participate in a two-day national round-robin justify your inclusion championship to be organised by the association on October 25 and 26 at the Accra Sports Stadium Hall.
Greater Accra leads the pack with nine players followed by the Ashanti and Central Regions with four players each, and Eastern Region with two. Participants are expected to be sponsored by their various regional sports development associations since the GTTA is not in the position to bear their expenses.
The two-day programme will afford the GTTA the chance to select three boys and two girls to join two other senior players in camp to prepare towards the 12th African Youth and African Senior Cup Championship slated for South Africa from December 16-22.
The players are Tweneboa Kodua, Joe Sam (Tema), Emmanuel Frempong, Beatrice Gyasi, Florence Sarpong, Linda Annor, Rachel Ako, Rachel Torgbor and Fouzia Amadu of Greater Accra.
Cosmos Oppong, Linda Nkansah, Eva Amankwaah and Cecilia Fremah represent the Ashanti Region, while Efua Oforiwaah, Mohammed Ali, Kwame Ampofo and Eric Agyemang are from the Central Region. The rest are Nana Yaw Boateng and Charles Oppong from Eastern Region.
Meanwhile, other U-17 players interested to justify their inclusion should contact and seek clearance from the GTTA, latest by Thursday October 24.
