MONTEVIDEO, -- Uruguay football chiefs called off the World Cup finals warm-up match set for May 8 with African powerhouses Ghana on Friday because they did not think they would be able to call on all their European-based stars.
However the Uruguayan Football Federation (AUF) confirmed their remaining international friendlies, against fellow finalists the USA and China, in Washington on May 12 and Shanghai on May 16 would go ahead.
They will also play J-League outfit Yokohama Marinos in Yokohama on May 25 as their final warm-up before taking on their Group A rivals world champions France, debutants Senegal and 1998 quarter-finalists Denmark.
