V/R prepares to win Colleges Sports Festival

Ho, Aug. 06, GNA - Mr Winston Sedoalor Amengor, Volta Regional Schools Sports Organizer on Monday declared the preparedness of the Region to win this year's edition of the National Schools and Colleges Sports Festival to be held at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

Mr Amengor who spoke to the GNA Sports after the Regional Sports Festival, said the one week festival had unearthed good talented players and athletes who were determined to bring glory to the Region, which until recently was a regular medallist at the National Festival. He said the Region aims at winning such events as volleyball, handball, football and athletics and called on the sports loving people of the Region to support the team with especially their upkeep and sporting kits to boost their moral.

Mr Amengor advised the other participating regions to gird their loins and prepare thoroughly since the Volta Region is determined to make a positive impact at the Festival.

Meanwhile Anlo, Awudome and Sogakope Secondary Schools emerged first, second and third respectively in the Regional event for the boys category.

Kadjebi Asato secondary school came first followed by Anlo Awomefia secondary school in second position with Three Town Secondary School placing third in the girls' division. 06 Aug. 07
