Asamoah Gyan scored his first goal of the season in the Chinese Super League as Shanghai SIPG thumped Liaoning FC 4-0 on Sunday.
The Ghana captain latched onto a threaded pass from Wu Lei to score the fourth goal on 79 minutes.
He drifted past the goalkeeper before slotting home into a gaping net.
Gyan had been on the pitch for only two minutes after climbing off the pitch to replace Brazilian Elkeson de Oliveira Cardoso.
He was making a return to action after he picked up a thigh while on international duty two weeks ago into the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mozambique.
Gyan sat out his side’s 1-1 draw with Chongqing in the Chinese top flight last week.
