The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi has expressed concerns over the administrative style of Sports minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuije.
According to him, the public utterances and conduct of the minister over past weeks, create the impression as though he has issues with the GFA.
here appears to be tension between the GFA and the new minister following his constant criticisms of some actions of the association. He is on record to have raised doubts over the quality of the local premier league. Mr. Vanderpuije is also reported to have described the Nyantakyi-led GFA as a cow dung.
Speaking to Nii Arday Clegg on the Morning Starr Tuesday, the legal practitioner said the impression of a frosty relationship between the GFA and the ministry has solely been created by the minister.
“We do not have any problem with the minister, he has chosen to engage us through the media. Anytime we hear of any meeting between him and us, we hear it through the media. It's not a good thing for the minister to address the GFA as cow dung, but he did that and we all know what cow dung is.
“I expect the minister to support our league instead of criticizing it like a 'serial caller. I've heard the minister say the league isn't attractive but what are his suggestions,...I think he should stop polluting Ghanaians with untruths,” he stated.
