Board Member of Hearts of Oak, Frank Nelson Nwolokko says the Phobians strong finish in the just ended Ghana premier league was due to the introduction of Turkish trainer Vanli Can after the club parted ways with Herbert Addo.
The performance of the Phobians was not convincing right from the start of the season which caused the exit of Coach Herbert Addo and his assistant Dauda Lutterodt in 8 league games to end the season.
However in 5 league games to end the season, Vanli Can was brought in as an attaché coach and it worked perfectly for the former premier league champions as they finished the season by placing at the 4th position with 43 points.
And Frank Nelson believes that the appointment of Vanli Can as an attaché coach was the reason why the Phobians finished the season strongly adding that the Board will support Management in appointing the Turkish trainer full time.
“I think there are some introductions in the team that he (Vanli) has made in terms of ball possession. There are new things he has introduced to the club and we cannot take that away from him.
“The Board will make decisions in that regard. We don’t want to go into next season thinking we cannot win the league or not do better in Africa, I think he can help us,” Frank Nelson told Citi fm.
