Kenya forward Michael Olunga has challenged the country's local-based players to work hard and always be ready when called up for National team duty.
The Harambee stars had five local players in the starting line up as they stunned Ghana by a solitary goal on Saturday afternoon.
The Japan based striker believes the performance of the domestic players should motivate the others.
"We missed key players for this match - our captain Victor Wanyama who is recovering from a knee injury, Brian Mandela, Ayub Timbe for instance but the local players played very well and covered for their absence," he stated.
"Joash Onyango was playing in his first big international match for the National team and he was immense. Dennis Odhiambo also put in a good shift. Ovella Ochieng who recently moved to Sweden was also fearless and that was impressive," Olunga added.
"This should serve as a motivation to all local players. They need to prepare and work hard so that they grab the opportunities when they come." He added.
