Vincent Sowah-Odotei is in line to stage a return to Hearts as the club's Chief Executive following the resignation of Gerald Ankrah on Monday.

Ankrah has quit the job ahead of a board meeting over claims of neglect and power play.

The deep cracks at the capital-based appears to have reached a crescendo with the embattled chief accused of hiring 'amateur' Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

Ankrah decided to jump ship before he was pushed out with widespread claims he was facing the sack.

The former Executive Director of the Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) is reported to be unhappy after being sidelined in key recruitment and key decisions.

He feels his authority has been submerged following the appointment of a Strategic Management Committee headed by Vincent Sowah-Odotei.

Hearts are in deep crisis but officials have constantly denied claims of a rift and power play involving former top officials and majority shareholder Togbe Afede.

The resignation of Ankrah will further worsen the already volatile situation at the club, less than a month before the start of the new season.

Hearts have been in turmoil in pre-season with mounting reports of massive financial crisis crippling the club's activities.

The club struggled to make any significant signing in the transfer window as they could only settle for 'aged and inexperienced' players.

The club's demanding supporters have been unhappy with the downward spiral amid fears it could deteriorate this term.

Football administrator turned politician, Vincent Sowah Odotei, nicknamed 'Obama' is the likely candidate to succeed Ankrah.

It's is however unclear how he will combine football administration with politics as he will contest the La Dadekotopon Parliamentary seat on the ticket of opposition New Patriotic Party.
