Essipong, (W/R) March 16 GNA - Sekondi Hasaacas on Sunday were forced to a 2-2 drawn game against visiting Dansoman -based Liberty Professionals in their Onetouch Premier League first round last match at the Sekondi Sports Stadium at Essipong.

It was Liberty who took control of the match after the kick-off putting their opponents under considerable pressure. Hasaacas managed to dominate play from the sixth minute but they found it difficult to make any headway into the goal area of Liberty. In the ninth minute, a penalty was awarded Hasaacas when Paul Aidoo was brought down in the box while making an attempt to find the net by Liberty's defender Emmanuel Osei.

Kwesi Biney Junior beautifully converted the kick in the 10th minute to register the first goal.

Liberty immediately launched an attack and pressed for the equaliser after the goal and Latif Salifu found the equalizer in the 16th minute for his side.

Hasaacas stepped up their attack and this paved the way for Charles Nartey to score the second goal in the 20th minute. The home team remained on top till the first half ended despite the frequent attacks by the visitors.

Back from the recess, Liberty again pressed in search for an equaliser while Hasaacas resorted to defensive play to consolidate their lead. In the 89th minute, Richard Kissi Boateng scored the much-needed goal for Liberty to bring the final scores to two all. After the goal was scored, there was temporary holdup with the Hasaacas players protesting that assistant referee, Anthony Tetteh Opai had raised his flag for off-side before the goal was scored. Referee Asare Barnie Martin however upheld his decision for the goal for the match to resume but the match officials were heckled after the end of the match.
