Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan could be heading to the Dutch Eredivisie after Vitesse Arnhem showed interest.
The 25-year-old has been told he has no chance at German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 this season and could be the club’s 17th player to leave this summer.
Vitesse’s new owners, who have been spending big, could either secure his services on loan for the season with the option of buying him after that.
Schalke are yet to confirm Vitesse bid but reports say they will conclude talks over the Ghana’s Fifa 2010 World Cup star before the transfer deadline at the end of this month.
Annan joined Schalke 04 at the beginning of the year for € 2.5 million from Norwegian side Rosenborg.
The departure of coach Felix Magath, who signed him, affected his playing chances in the team.
Annan made nine appearances in the German Bundesliga last season.
