Theodore Mawuli Viwoto, Administrative Secretary of the Ghana Amputee Football Association (GAFA) has been appointed Deputy Media Relations Officer by the World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF).
President of the global body, Richard Hofmann said in a letter copied to GNA Sports that “It is my pleasure to inform you that WAFF 2nd Vice President Masayuki Sugino, and I have agreed and hereby appoint you as Deputy Media Relations Officer for the World Amputee Football Federation.”
Viwotor, who has been given responsibilities over the continent to contribute to giving amputee football visibility and attract more support for the disability sport’s rich background, skills and experience which span over a decade, influenced his appointment.
Viwotor has attended many Amputee Football events, including the last two World Cups in Argentina and Russia in 2010 and 2012 respectively.
He was also instrumental in the organization of the 3rd Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football (CANAF 2011) in Ghana in 2011.
With his bilingual background, Viwotor is expected to build a rapport between the various blocs on the continent and open up the Federation.
