Mensah Still On Reading's Menu

English Premiership side, Reading, have shot down rumours linking them with USA wonderkid Freddy Adu, but the royals are still keeping tabs on Rennes centre-back John Mensah.

The French club rejected a ?5 million offer during the summer and Reading may try again when the transfer window re-opens in January.

The club sent scouts to France last weekend to watch the Ghana international in action against Saint-Etienne.

Hammond added: "We had significant money on the table for players last summer but if clubs don't want to sell there's not much we can do.

"Maybe in January we'll be in a position to try again."
