Volta Regional FA chairman, Francis Dogbatse has praised the standard of football exhibited by the various Division Two clubs in the region. 90 clubs are currently playing the Regional Championship which enters match day three (3) and he is full of admiration as all the participating team are keeping the standard very high and keenly contesting promotion to the National Division One League. Francis Dogbatse who is serving his second term of office alluded to the fact that, over the years the standard of play in the region has been very low as some football administrators don’t understand the intricacies of the game and this has changed dramatically. The fans have also kept a very high level of understanding of the game which led to the various league centers being peaceful and officiating officials are performing their core duties in a friendly environment. The RFA Chairman however thanked the regional FA committees for the good work they are doing to see the league reached where it is now and urge all participating teams and their supporters to continue the good sportsmanship as it is a crucial ingredient to the development of the game. The RFA Chairman said is high time stakeholders collaborated with the FA to upgrade facilities in the lower divisions since they are the breeding grounds for future players and also appealed to the Municipal/District Assemblies in the region to take keen interest in the lower division leagues by supporting them to strengthen their internal structures for the progress of the region in football.
