Ghana international defender Isaac Vorsah has been axed from Red Bull Salzburg first team squad and told to join junior side FC Liefering on his return from injury, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 27-year-old center-back finally returned to full scale training two weeks ago and cleared by the Red Bull Salzburg medical team amidst reports of contract termination by the Austrian Bundesliga title-holders.
However the lanky defender was relegated to the club’s second string side to play in the Austrian second-tier league.
The former TSG Hoffenheim defender made his first appearance for Liefering on Tuesday evening when they overcame A. Lustenau 2-1 at the Untersberg-Arena.
This means Vorsah, who played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup for Ghana, has joined Ghanaian youth trio of David Atanga, Raphael Dwamena and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi at the club.
But only Atanga and Dwamena got involved in Tuesday’s game as Vorsah warmed the bench for the entire period of the game.
