Ghana have been dealt a massive blow ahead of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers after defender Isaac Vorsah underwent a surgery on his knee at Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday, Ghana’s leading football portal, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 26-year-old has been out of action for more than a year since he suffered a cruciate ligament injury during an Austrian semi-final cup match against Traun in May 2013.
His return has been delayed by an infection on his knee, as revealed exclusively by GHANAsoccernet.com.
The Ghanaian international will be sidelined for a longer period as he battles his way back to full fitness.
The news will be a massive blow to Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah who was hoping to have the strong centre-back in time ahead of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers which starts in September this year.
Manager Adolf Huter has revealed he will not sell the ‘great’ Ghana defender due to immense qualities.
Vorsah missed the country’s 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil and now looks to sit out of the early stages of the qualifiers for Morocco 2015.
