Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Abu-Bakar Saddique Boniface has revealed that there is a possibility that Wa All Star will use the newly constructed Madina Sports Complex as their home venue for the upcoming season.

According to the MP, talks are far advanced in that regard and barring any last-minute change, the agreement should be reached with All Stars soon.

Wa All Stars which was previously owned by ex-FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has been sold to a consortium led by former Black Stars defender John Paintsil and they are determined to relocate the team from the Northern part of Ghana.

All Stars have been training at Frafraha, a suburb of Accra ahead of the commencement of the League on December 28.

Speaking on the sidelines at the inauguration of the Madina Sports Complex, Abu-Bakar Saddique Boniface said the desire of All Stars to use the facility underlines its quality and importance in serving the community and nation at large.

“The President came to inspect the facility because it is about 95 percent complete. As the first Zongo Development Ministe, I felt the Zongo communities had a hidden resource which is sports and so if we commit ourselves to developing such facilities it would help. This is a multi-purpose facility, it has two basketball courts, five aside pitches, volleyball courts, and tennis courts.

“Now the FA Presidents wants some of the national teams to be playing here. Wa All Stars want to adopt this place for the league. This was the aim of the facility, to help unearth talents, and ultimately reduce crime because the youth can be engaged there regularly.”

President Akufo-Addo, on Monday, 2nd December 2019, as part of his 3-day tour of the Greater Accra Region, inspected the new Madina Zongo Astroturf.

The turf, whose construction commenced when the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party government assumed office, was built to create a conducive environment for the training and development of sporting talent in Zongo communities.
