Despite a slow start to the campaign, Mubarak Wakaso remains upbeat about Ghana’s chances in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Black Stars began their Group F campaign on a stuttering note as they were held to a pulsating 2-2 draw by the Squirrels at the Ismailia Stadium on Tuesday.
Mickael Pote gave Benin a shock lead after two minutes before Black Stars captain Andre Ayew restored parity for Kwesi Appiah’s men.
Jordan fired Ghana ahead, but Pote earned Benin a point after John Boye was dismissed for a second yellow card.
However, Wakaso is confident the team will bounce back against Cameroon.
“Never say never. INSHAALLAH we gonna make it,” he posted on Twitter.
Ghana will face the Indomitable Lions on Saturday at 5pm whilst Benin lock horns with Guinea Bissau later at the same venue.
