Warriors hold Voradep at Ho

Ho, Aug 17 - GNA - Volta Warriors Football Club of Akosombo on Sunday held Ho-Voradep FC to a goalless draw in their Division One League match played at the Ho Sports Stadium on Sunday. Both teams concentrated play in mid-field with occasional fruitless breakthroughs.

Voradep, which dominated the exchanges, was jeered at and booed by the few spectators who expressed their displeasure at the home team's lackadaisical approach to the game.

Vipers beats Bafana 1-0

Cape Coast, Aug 16 - GNA- A goal scored by Goerge Frimpong in the 35th minute enabled Cape Coast Vernon Vipers to beat visiting Bafana Bafana of Takoradi 1-0 in a Division One League match at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Starting the game under the instructions of class one referee Albert Nelson of Tema, the Cape Coast lads took absolute control of the game and scored the only goal of the match through Frimpong with a header in a goal mouth melee.

Bafan responded strongly and made several efforts at scoring but failed to find the net till the end of the game. At the end of the match, the officials and fans of Bafana attacked the referee but the security personnel on duty intervened to save him his assistants from molestation.
