Manchester City produced a commanding display to defeat Arsenal 2-0 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, March 22, 2026, clinching their ninth Carabao Cup title thanks to a second-half brace from Nico O’Reilly.

But beyond the goals, it was Antoine Semenyo who stole the spotlight with a relentless and electric performance on the right flank.

Semenyo played the full 90 minutes and proved a constant threat, repeatedly driving at Arsenal’s defense with pace and intent.

He gave Piero Hincapie a torrid afternoon, forcing the left-back into an early booking in the 16th minute before ultimately being substituted in the 65th minute after struggling to contain him.

After the match, Semenyo did not shy away from acknowledging his impact.

“I just have that freedom to do what I want on the wing, get at defenders and cause problems. I had Hincapie running around a little bit, that’s just what I do. As soon as he got booked, he was backing off a lot,” he said.

The triumph marks a significant milestone in Semenyo’s career, completing a remarkable rise from England’s lower leagues to lifting a major domestic trophy, ironically against boyhood club Arsenal.

Since joining Manchester City in January, the Ghanaian forward has registered seven goals and two assists in 16 appearances, underlining his growing influence at the club.
