Ghana's captain, Andre Dede Ayew, scored two goals in a match that featured football stars such as Sulley Muntari, Afriyie Acquah, Gladson Awako, and Clifford Aboagye over the weekend on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
The match, held at Nania Park inside the University of Ghana, drew many fans eager to witness these stars in action.
Ayew’s team, wearing black kits, boasted of players like Sulley Muntari, Afriyie Acquah, Bernard Arthur, Michael Sarpong, and Benjamin Afutu, among others. The team in white included players such as Clifford Aboagye, Benjamin Acheampong, Gladson Awako, Aziz Tetteh, and others.
Ayew opened the scoring by beating his marker to the ball, dribbling past the goalkeeper and another defender before smashing the ball into the net.
An audacious press from Sulley Muntari to set up a teammate helped the black team double their lead by setting up a teammate for the second goal.
After the break, the white team reduced the deficit with a thunderous strike from one of their promising players.
Ayew then scored his third goal of the game with a header after a scramble for the ball. The white team managed to reduce the scoreline again with a powerful strike.
Substitute Bernard Arthur, a former player of Hearts of Oak and Liberty Professionals, scored the fourth goal with a lob over the goalkeeper into the waiting net.
The white team later scored the final goal of the game, ending in a 4-3 victory for Andre Ayew’s team.
