The newly constructed TNA Stadium is nearing completion after hosting its first test match on Friday, July 19, 2024.

The stadium, which is yet to be officially commissioned, hosted a trial match between Tarkwa Senior High School and Fiaseman Senior High School to test the readiness of the venue before handing it over to the community.

The 10,000-seater stadium was open to just under 500 fans to watch the trial match.

During the game, fans were asked to engage in a riot to test security measures and how to handle such situations during games at the venue.

The stadium, constructed by Goldfields Ghana Ltd, once completed, will be handed over to the Tarkwa Municipal Assembly and the National Sports Authority.

The reconstruction of the TNA Stadium is part of Goldfield's efforts to demonstrate corporate social responsibility.

In 2020, Goldfields Ghana, the headline sponsor of Medeama, announced that it would invest GH₵ 65 million, the equivalent of $13 million at the time, into upgrading Medeama's TNA Stadium.

With the project nearing its completion, Medeama has submitted the venue to the Ghana Football Association to use it as their home venue for the 2024/2025 season.
