The Accra Sports Stadium was the stage for an intense match on Wednesday afternoon, where Accra Lions emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win over Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League's rescheduled Week 28 game.

Originally set for March 27th, the game was moved to May 1st.

Before the whistle blew, Accra Hearts of Oak were 12th in the standings with 35 points, and Accra Lions were in a more comfortable 8th position with 40 points.

The match started with a midfield battle, with both teams unable to score before halftime. After the break, strategic changes were made. Accra Hearts of Oak had to replace Glid Otanga with Gideon Asante Yeboah in the 49th minute due to an injury sustained from an on-field collision.

Accra Lions took the lead in the 56th minute thanks to a goal from Ibrahim Issa during a counterattack. Accra Hearts of Oak pushed for an equalizer, but Accra Lions' defence remained solid, securing their lead until the final whistle.

Accra Hearts of Oak will take on Berekum Chelsea, and Accra Lions are set to face Aduana Stars in their next league matches.
