English player of Ghanaian descent, Kobbie Mainoo, stood out in England's draw in their last game in the group stages of Euro 2024 against Slovenia.

The Three Lions qualified out of Group C as leaders after amassing 5 points in three matches.

Coach Gareth Southgate set up an English side with yet another experiment as Declan Rice was made to partner with Conor Gallagher in midfield.

The Chelsea player failed to justify his inclusion, prompting a halftime replacement for the introduction of Manchester United teenager Kobbie Mainoo.

The 18-year-old injected some life into England's game, but the final third was clumsy.

Mainoo was a delight to watch in midfield for the Three Lions as he changed the tempo and created more chances in the game.

His final zest for England could have fetched the winner after he laid a pass to Harry Kane, but the captain failed to return the favor.

Kane instead passed the ball to Cole Palmer, whose finishing was feeble.

The game against Slovenia was Mainoo's second game for England at Euro 2024. He made his tournament debut in the 1-0 win over Serbia but sat out the stalemate with Denmark.

Ahead of the Round of 16 match on Saturday, June 29, 2024, many fans have called for more playing time for the Manchester United lad.
