Two goals and one assist from Lionel Messi led Inter Miami to a dominant thumping of the New England Revolution on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
After conceding just 40 seconds into the match in stunning fashion, Miami responded fantastically, earning a brilliant result on the road.
Thomas Chancalay put the Revolution up in the first minute, beating an out-of-position Drake Callender with a lobbed effort. However, they couldn't hold their own against the Herons, with Lionel Messi running the show from that point.
The Argentine found the back of the net in the 32nd and 68th minute, securing three points for Inter Miami. The first goal came off a lovely through ball from Robert Taylor and the second from his longtime friend Sergio Busquets.
The game was gone with Messi's second, but Miami didn't stop. Two late goals, one from U.S. international Benjamin Cremaschi and one from Luis Suarez sealed the deal in a 4-1 victory.
The match was sold out, with an attendance of over 60,000 present. The average ticket price was $285.
