Marcel Desailly and Didier Drogba led their side to beat Samuel Eto'o and Arsene Wenger's team in a charity match on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

Desailly and Drogba played for Team VCF Vendroux which also had notable names like France coach Didier Deschamps, former French international Robert Pires, Belgium legend Eden Hazard and French President Emmanuel Macron.

They faced Team VCF Wenger which was made up of healthcare professionals from Paris with former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as their coach.

Other notable football personalities in Team VCF Wenger were Barcelona and Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o, Togo legend Emmanuel Adebayor, and Kylian Mbappe's father Wilfred Mbappe.

The game ended in a 5-3 win for Team VCF Vendroux with Macron scoring a spot kick.

The game aimed to raise funds for a foundation headed by Macron's wife Brigitte Macron.

The game, which was put together by the Varieties Club of France (VCF), came off at the Stade Bernard Giroux and raised 57,500 euros ($61,500).
