The bankroller of King Faisal FC, Alhaji Gruzah says his side refused to honour their Division One League match with Proud United on Saturday because the venue was not secured.
Alhaji Gruzah told Silver FM that both parties had agreed to have at least 20 police officers at the venue, but there was none present with a few minutes to start the match.
“We agreed at the pre-match meeting that there would be 20 police officers at the match venue, but when we got to the stadium, there was none.
”I told the match commissioner, and he said the match should start because the security was on the way, but when the match went on for 15 minutes and the security men were not still around, I told my team to walk off the pitch,” he said.
He also indicated that only two police officers came later and when the match commissioner confronted them they told him that they were not on duty but came to watch football.
“So we have written to the GFA to demand three points and three goals,” the outspoken administrator added.
The game between Proud United and King Faisal lasted for only fifteen minutes on Saturday, and the GFA is yet to make a decision on the match.
