Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak SC, Federick Moore is confident that the Phobians will reclaim their lost glory as an elite club in Africa soon.
The Phobians really announced their presence on the African stage after winning the CAF Champions League, Super Cup, and the maiden edition of the Confederation Cup within the space of five years.
However, the club has now become a laughing stock for rival clubs in Ghana as they have gone nearly ten years without a trophy after having won the Ghana Premier League in the 2009/10 season.
Speaking in an interview on his club's trophy drought, Mr. Moore was optimistic that their fortunes will change in no time for them to resume their tag as 'the continental club masters'.
“We are still the continental club masters. We have been reviewing how we have not won a trophy in a while but some of the big clubs in the world have also gone a long time without a tittle but the most important thing is that we’ve got one of the best board chairmen, a good board and good players,”
“The continental club masters cannot be taken from us because of what we have done in the past. With the consistency at the top, I think we are now on the road to bigger things.”
“I’m very confident Hearts of Oak will start winning trophies soon. We are building one of the best academies that will rival any academy in the world,” Mr. Moore told Kumasi FM.
