Head coach of Accra Great Olympics, Isaac Nii Armah, has revealed that his team is good enough to play in the elite division of Ghana Football and not in the lower tier.

The coach made this remark after his side managed to keep former African champions Accra Hearts of Oak at bay after two legs which all ended in a stalemate. In the end the Dade Boy’s succumbed on penalty shootouts where they failed woefully, scoring just once in 4 shoots.

According to the former Bechem United technical man, his team is better than some clubs playing the Premier League.

“We don’t deserve to play in division one, we are better than most of the teams that are in the Premier League, it’s just because of one or two issues that is why they find themselves there,” coach Nii Armah said after the game on Sunday.

Olympics were relegated from the Premier League after having troubles with their erstwhile managers Godwin Attram and Swedish coach Tom Strand who were unable to keep the popular Ghanaian club above relegation zone.

The coach who holds great reverence for coach David Duncan for mentoring him and recommending him to the club is highly confident of sealing a dream promotion back to the Premier League.

He added” I believe that I am the right man for now because they have appointed me and I was recommended by one of the top coaches we have in Ghana. It took David Duncan to convince me to leave Bechem United to join Olympics because at this age I have to pass through the traditional clubs and find it hectic so that when I’m given the opportunity to coach a big club in the near future I don’t fumble.”

Coach Nii Armah has managed Great Olympics for three months.
