Asante Kotoko attacker Baba Yahaya has expressed optimism that the club’s pre-season efforts will positively impact the 2024/25 season.
The team's most notable pre-season match to date was a 2-1 defeat to Medeama in a friendly marking the inauguration of the renovated TNA Sports Stadium.
Currently, the squad is participating in the GHALCA 2024 Tournament, where they secured a 1-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars in their opening game.
Discussing the team's preparations, Yahaya acknowledged that expectations for the new season cannot be so high.
He emphasized that while it is early days in pre-season, the current training sessions are showing promising signs.
“We can’t raise our expectations so high like that. It is now we are starting pre-season and the training we are doing is showing a lot of positivity.
“We hope the training we are undergoing and what our coaches are teaching us in pre-season will come to bear in the upcoming season.”
Asante Kotoko are set to open their Ghana Premier League season with an away game against Karela United.
