Riyad Mahrez, the captain of the Algeria National Team, has said, they know the strength and weaknesses of their opponent Senegal and will exploit them to their advantage.
He said, they know Senegal was a very good team after playing against them in the group stage and despite beating them by a lone, the finals would be tougher.
Mahrez, 28, stoppage time brilliant free-kick handed Algeria their first AFCON Final slot in 29 years against Senegal who would be chasing their maiden AFCON glory.
Speaking ahead of the big game, the Manchester City Star said, “We are so happy to be in the final because it is something unbelievable. It is a great feeling. It was a very tough game and it looked like it would go into extra time after they had the penalty from the VAR. But we got this free-kick and I was determined to score”.
“We have been very good in this tournament. We have scored 12 goals and conceded only two but definitely, this game has given us more confidence to play the final. We are capable of winning it”, he added.
The game at the Cairo International Stadium would be the fifth AFCON meeting between the two sides. Interestingly, Algeria and Senegal played in the semi-final when the Desert Warriors won the title in 1990.
