President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has attributed the slow development of football in the country to lack of adequate funding.
Kwesi Nyantakyi speaking at the end of year press soiree at FA secretariat indicated that Ghana Football can be weaned off governmental support; cater for all national teams and other challenges confronting club football if the FA is able to generate adequate revenue on a yearly basis.
“In terms of living creatures nobody is an enemy to Ghana Football but in terms of inanimate creatures funding is the biggest enemy to Ghana Football”, he explained.
“If we are able to generate a minimum of $10m to $20m, we can run all the national teams including the league without depending on government”, he stressed.
Ghana Football has been plunged into a lot of difficulties in recent times due to financial constraints.
