A management member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Mr George Amoako, has said that it is not only the Chief Executive Officer of the club who has decided to resign this year but the entire management team.

He said the management team has decided to take that decision after a collective reflection over developments in the club.

He expressed disappointment at the way Mr Mensah has been vilified by people who profess to love Kotoko in recent times when he (Mensah) has done so much to move Kotoko forward.

Speaking on a Kumasi-based radio station yesterday, Mr Amoako said if in spite of all the good things that the management is doing people still doubt their integrity, then the best thing to do is to call it quits.

He regretted the way some people have tagged Mr Mensah as a "thief" when he has pumped so much money into the club to bring it to the present enviable state.

He said if he (Mensah) had founded a club of his own he would have made a lot of money from it as the owner of Liberty Professionals, Sly Tetteh, is doing. Mr Amoako expressed the hope that the new coach, Ian Porterfield, would take off from where Enrst Middendorp left.

He said Porterfield was selected from three coaches who were short listed for the job. He said the departure of Middendorp would have seriously affected the club if a suitable replacement had not been found.
