The President and bankroller of Inter Allies, Mr Delali Senaye, has revealed that his club’s decision to relocate from the Tema Sports Stadium to the El-Wak Sports Stadium as their newly-adopted home for the upcoming 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League season, was due primarily to financial considerations.
The Executive Committee member said, “We moved from Tema due to financial reasons. The team is based at La and we always have to travel to Tema to play which is very costly”.
“El Wak is a good venue and since the club is based at La, our fans are also based there and they can troop to the stadium in their numbers to watch us play. The stadium also has some facilities that will very useful to the team and the fans”, he added.
One of the club’s top players, Isaac Twum, praised management on the decision to move from Tema to Accra.
“Now we can play on the green grass which we have been used to for a very long time. We, sometimes, encountered difficulties and some players complained of knee injuries whilst playing on the artificial turf in Tema”.
Inter Allies will start their league campaign against Accra Hearts of Oak at home this weekend.
