The Presidential Candidate of All People’s Congress, APC, Dr. Hassan Ayariga has bemoaned that Ghanaians need a serious change purposely to transform the country from its current state.
In his view, the good people of Ghana are not suffering because of NDC or NPP but because Ghanaians are quiet.
“A change where everybody must come on board, a change where everyone should be involved in the building of the nation, but a change from one political party to the other without including the good people in the development process will not solve the country’s problems,” he said. Dr. Ayariga continued that Ghana is wealthy in human and natural resources but the country is economically poor because of bad leadership.
According to him, no single political party can rescue Ghana from its economic woes that is why his party’s all-inclusive governance is crucial for the development of the nation. He made these statements known to Ghanaians living abroad who listened to him across the world during his interview on Amenado Radio at Denver, Colorado, USA on Saturday, July 23.
Speaking to the host of “think about Ghana” political show, Solomon Owusu, the APC flagbearer stated that Ghana has got to the crossroad where people have seen change of governments from NDC to NPP and back to NDC, yet the country still struggles with economic issues.
“Ghanaians are still struggling with basic amenities, including water, electricity, food security, health care, education and many others. Ghanaians lack of enjoying these basic things show that government upon government have failed the good people of Ghana.” He said.
In his submission, he made it known to the listeners that the APC party believes it is about time Ghanaians rethink, find the issues affecting them and consider what they need to change in order to make the country better.
Additionally, he promised the Ghanaian “burgers” that his government will give equal opportunities and platforms to all Ghanaians regardless of party colours so that we can all build the country together.
He assured the listeners that he only needs the mandate to ensure that knowledgeable, patriotic, incorrupt and responsible Ghanaians hold key positions in the various institutions to enable the country to attain the transformation that can fit the 21st century needs.
Concerning his intermittent coughing during the 2012 IEA debate, he explained to Ghanaians that he had no intentions to disrupt Nana Akufo Addo, as some people implored. According to him, he had cold just before the debate and he initially turned down the request three days before the debate, as he wasn’t feeling well.
The dust he inhaled during the just ended campaign in the Northern Region blocked his lungs, resulting to the cough. Because he knew he was coughing which would make people uncomfortable, he went to the debate with his medicated tea, thinking that would suppress the cough.
From his experience, anytime he was talking, he squeezed himself to hold the cough but after, the cough was naturally and uncontrollably flowing because it had stayed in his system for some time. Unfortunately, he was next to Nana Akufo Addo and that created the impression that he intentionally disrupted the NPP’s flagbearer. “My brother, it was not a deliberate cough, for God’s sake, I couldn’t that to my fellow presidential candidate.
Please, I am bigger than that perceived trick and I couldn’t misuse such a big platform. It was a circumstance beyond my control that’s way I decided not to participate in the first place,” he said.
Explaining Africa’s democracy, Dr. Ayariga defined the democracy practiced by Africans as military regime in disguise. Contrary to the democracy practiced by the western world, the APC leader said whenever one political party wins power Africa, the rest of the citizens turn to be deserted. “We desert each other and call it democracy?
We abuse power and call it politics? Do we really understand the concept of democracy?” he questioned. His party, according to the political leader, believes in separating economic issues from political power and hence competent people should be given the opportunity to spearhead the various institutions, irrespective of what party who joins.
This is the reason why his party’s motto is all-inclusive governance. He assured all Ghanaians living abroad with rich talents and experiences that he will welcome them home to participate in the nation’s building, if he wins the 2016 elections and therefore hold the high office of the president of the republic of Ghana.
Dr. Ayariga touched on pertinent issues the country needs to fix, including corruption, unemployment, agriculture, power outages, port and harbour issues, education and mining issues.
Listeners from USA and other countries called in to commend Dr Ayariga for his strategic plans he has put in place to transform the country. “I have never taken you serious after the 2012 IEA until listening to you today. You have really impressed me and changed my total perception about you,” Mr. Martin Tuffour of Tucson, Arizona said.
The APC flagbearer told Ghanaians listening to him worldwide that God has blessed him with lots of resources and wealth but he felt Ghana needs transformation in this 21st century that’s why he has been appealing to the good people of Ghana to give him the opportunity to change the country.
Briefing the listeners about his achievements, he said he left Ghana at the age of 16 to study abroad, built his first house in Ghana at the age of 22, made his first $1 million at the age of 24, established many companies in Ghana and Germany at 40yrs old and now he has formed his own political party purposely to transform his homeland Ghana.
Canvassing for votes, he encouraged all Ghanaians living abroad to go home and vote for APC part during the elections. Appealing to listeners in a passionate manner, Dr. Hassan Ayariga admonished all Ghanaians to share their rich knowledges and experiences with his team and additionally, availed himself by informing the host to put his phone number to the public domain so that anybody can contact him at any time. He is ready to welcome all ideas that may help in building Ghana for the better.
In a soft and passionate voice, he said he came to this earth with nothing and he will go to the same earth with nothing. All he needs from Ghanaians is their votes to enable him to build and lead the country for a successful Ghana.
