Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo remains optimistic about his team's performance despite recent setbacks, emphasising that the only missing element is turning strong displays into victories.

Following a goalless draw against Sudan on Thursday in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, the Ghanaian tactician acknowledged that while the team is playing well, they must sharpen their ability to secure wins.

Addressing the media after the match, Coach Otto Addo praised the team’s effort but admitted they fell short when it came to converting chances.

"Every team poses a threat, and Sudan defended well today, particularly their goalkeeper. But if we had been a bit more clinical with our opportunities, we would have taken the win,” the coach remarked.

He added, “I believe we were the better side. We created many chances, but we lacked the finishing touch. Sudan’s goalkeeper did well, but apart from the point they secured, I can't say they had an outstanding performance. We need to work on winning matches, and that’s our focus now.”

The pressure is mounting on the Black Stars, who currently find themselves in a tight race for qualification. Otto Addo remains confident, stating, “We must win the next game to stay in contention.”

The Black Stars have since departed for Libya, where they will take on Sudan in a crucial rematch on Tuesday, October 15. Before the match, the team will undergo mandatory training at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Monday as part of their final preparations.

The upcoming fixture is set for a 13:00 GMT kick-off, and a win is essential to boost Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
