Hearts of Oak defender Phillip Boampong has said that the team is poised to reverse a 0-4 defeat to Esperance when they host the North Africans in the Confederation Cup crucial tie to apiece their followers.

Hearts will host the former continental champions in a reverse fixture of the last round of qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, needing five unanswered goals to progress.

Boampong told GNA Sports that “It is not going to be an easy game but everything is in God’s hands. The luck that guided our opponent to win against us, that same luck will help us. We can do it and we will qualify for our supporters.

‘‘We were having injury issues in the first leg but now Emmanuel Hayford is fit. We have trained well and prepared for the clash. If we are able to score two goals in the first 15minutes, then they (Esperance) should forget about qualification’’.

Boampong said that though the team was faced with unpaid salaries, they were motivated to qualify at the expense of their visitors.

“Whether there is money or not, qualification is our motivation and the coach has talked to us and management is taking steps to solve the problem before the game’’.

Hearts remain the only surviving Ghanaian team in the continental club competition.
