"We will fight to the limit"- Bayor

Hangzou, September 13, GNA - Skipper of Ghana's Black Queens, Adjoa Bayor says Ghana will fight to the limit in their quest to make an impact at the ongoing FIFA Women's World Cup in China. Ghana lost 1-4 to Australia in a Group C opener on Wednesday but the skilful skipper is convinced all is not lost. "We will fight and give our all to the very end because we are hungry to make Ghana proud."

Bayor said the team's desire to stay in contention would propel them to go fighting when they lock horns with Canada at the Hangzou Dragon Stadium on Saturday.

The Skipper said she regards the 1-4 loss to the Aussies as an unfair result and pledged the team's desire to fight for a respectable result against the Canadians who lost 1-2 to Norway in their opening game too.

Bayor reckons that utilizing of their chances in the next game will make a huge difference to their course.

"We failed to take our chances against Australia and we are determined not to repeat the same thing in subsequent games. "We admit that playing well without scoring is not the way forward and we are now more that ever determined to take the chances we create".

Ghana is making her third appearance at the quadrennial event which is in its fifth edition.

Ghana is the first African to have snatched a win at the last event when they won 2-1 against Australia at the last World Cup in the United Stats in 2003 and hope to make improvements in their performance. 13 Sept. 04
