The caretaker coach for the national U-20 side, Black Satellites, Coach oti Akenten says New Edubiase star Mumuni Abubakar was not deliberately dropped for their upcoming friendlies with the Youth team of Italy and Parma, next month.
According to the Technical Director of the FA, the call up was done with the idea of not disrupting the ongoing league hence the focus on the academies and some of the members of the U-17 team that failed to qualify for the last edition of the World Championship.
In an interview on Asempa fm’s Sports Morning Show on Monday, Oti Akenten stated that a lot of people have raised eyebrows on the exclusion of Mumuni Abubakar and his team have thus decided to reconsider their position on the chap.
Meanwhile, the Black Satellites squad are to report to camp on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 4:00pm at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
Ghana will play Italy's national U-20 team on Wednesday, November 9.
The team would also take on Serie B side, Parma FC on Saturday, November 12 to round up their time in Italy.
