The Ghana Premier League Board has said the body will suspend the ongoing premier league if Kumasi Asante Kotoko fail to return in two weeks.

The PLB will meet on Tuesday, July 25, to discuss a proposal tabled by other representatives calling for the suspension of the league to make way for Kotoko’s recovery.

Asante Kotoko have two outstanding matches following their fatal road accident a couple of weeks ago.

Head of Communications of the club has said his outfit will not return to action any time soon as they bid to recover fully from the fatal motor accident trauma.

The Porcupines have set somewhere mid-August to have a set of 23 players ready to return to full action.

However, the PLB Vice Chairman George Amoako has said Kotoko’s continual piling up of outstanding matches will not auger well for the league.

“We have receivbed a medical report from Kotoko’s doctor which gave an indication that probably they will return in two weeks but if they are not able to return int two weeks, we cannot force them to play and for that matter we will have to suspend the league”, George Amoako told Atinka FM

“Already there is the local Black Stars and also the WAFU tournament which starts on September 9th so suspending the league will allow for these teams to have the best of preparations.”

“We have a proposal from the CHAN team handlers and they would also like us to break the league and allow them space to prepare adequately for their game and these are the proposals we will have to look at,” he added
