Ex-Black Stars defender, Lee Addy, has shared that Ghanaian football icon, Sulley Muntari, holds high regard for the career choices of his ex-teammate, Laryea Kingston.
On the Ernest Brew Smith show, Addy revealed that Muntari has been attentively following Kingston's progress and greatly respects his coaching abilities.
The erstwhile Berekum Chelsea player recounted Muntari's advice to him, encouraging him to consider a coaching career or entrepreneurial endeavors, citing Kingston's success as the national U-17 coach as a model to emulate.
"During our last encounter, he inquired about my recent activities. He suggested I explore coaching or business opportunities. He praised Laryea Kingston as an exemplary coach, advising me to seek guidance from him, Attram, and others if I pursue coaching," Addy said.
Addy also offered a glimpse into Muntari's character, portraying him as a compassionate person who prioritizes the welfare of his peers.
He detailed how Muntari, a senior member during Addy's initial Black Stars call-up, was dedicated to advocating for the interests of younger and newer players.
"Sulley Muntari made a memorable remark. He said that it was Kufuor who previously championed our cause, and now it's his turn to do the same," Addy recalled, during his chat with Ernest Brew Smith.
The host then posed a reflective question; "In the current Black Stars lineup, who do you think would stand up for the players during a crisis?"
Despite Muntari's tough exterior, Addy affirmed, "Sulley is among the most benevolent people I know. He's always prepared to defend us."
Laryea Kingston, the current national U-17 team coach, has been lauded as one of the nation's emerging coaching talents, with the potential to evolve into a top-tier tactical expert.
Kingston's recent UEFA U-16 tournament strategy, which involved pressing and controlling the game akin to contemporary teams, has garnered admiration from followers.
