Wild jubilation rocks New Edubiase township following success of team

New Edubiase, Aug. 20, GNA - Wild jubilation by the people characteristic of world championship victory yesterday rocked the New Edubiase Township following the successive victories of their idol club, New Edubiase United in the on-going Polytank First Division Middle League competition. United accounted for Ebusua Dwarfs last Sunday and followed it up with a superb thrashing of Tarkwa United by four goals to one at the Tema stadium on Wednesday thus lessening their difficulty in qualifying for the premiership this season.

The streets of New Edubiase became jammed with jubilant residents as the young and the aged rose to their feet in a wonderful joyous mood, singing and chanting 'New Edubiase', 'New Edubiase'. The jubilation which stretched deep into the night did not center only along the streets but continued to drinking bars and other social spots which were filled with fans enjoying the feat. "What we are seeing is historic as far as New Edubiase Township is concerned. This 'soroku' and the street jams will continue all night till daybreak, an ecstatic Kwame Yeboah also known as Owuahene Enterprise told the GNA Sports.

A spectacle of the joyous mood was when people were busy preparing their meals such as the traditional food of fufu suddenly stopped and quickly joined the celebration as they held their pestle aloft in jubilation. Another fan Atta Kakra who was 'mad' with joy said he was confident of the qualification of New Edubiase United to the Premier division. He said the players were simply fantastic and they are showing the maximum commitments to the job.

Ama Serwaah, a student of New Edubiase Senior High School was not left out of the jubilation as she and other young ladies led the "samamo" train. The few taxi caps in the township led by Kwame Joshua gave another dimension to the jubilation as they tooted their horns to the elastic limit. The Krontihene of Edubiase Divisional Area, Nana Asirifi Asare II commended the players for the great honour done to the area with their impressive performance so far. He said "It is an honour done to us all, Nananom and the entire community. Our prayers is that the team will qualify to the ultimate premiership and we will not deny them our support in any way".
