Skillful Hearts of Oak midfielder Winful Cobbinah has revealed his delight in captaining the club during Thursday’s 0-0 draw with WAFA.
The 26-year-old was made captain of the day – his first since rejoining the Phobians – as Hearts labored to a goalless draw with the Academy Boys at the Baba Yara stadium.
The midfielder felt honoured to have led his teammates out as skipper, describing the moment as one he felt “really proud” of.
He was, however, quick to add that he would have been happier had Hearts recorded a win over the Sogakope-based side in Thursday’s Zylofon Cash Premier League encounter.
"It felt different and I am really proud to captain Hearts in our match with WAFA," Cobbinah told the club's official website.
"I would have loved to cap the day with victory but it did not happen that way.
"I feel we wasted a lot of chances in the first half. Things would have been different if we had taken the lead.
"The result feels like we lost the match because of the way we played."
"We played really well but just that we could not do what matters most - which is put the ball at the back of the net.
"You can see we are all disappointed and unhappy with the result."
Hearts of Oak currently occupy 10th position with just 14 points after the club’s latest draw with WAFA.
