Queenmother calls for peaceful elections

Ekumfi-Bogyano (C/R), Nov. 12, GNA - The Queenmother of Akotsi-Bogyano, Nana Essamoaba I, has charged female members of various political parties to let their impact deeply felt in the country's quest for a lasting peace and political stability.

Nana Essamoaba made the appeal at an emergency meeting with women leaders of the town to discuss their role in party politics towards the forthcoming elections.

She said as women they should develop exceptionally non-partisan qualities as far as the current political situation in the country was concerned to enable them advised their husbands and other family members on how they should go about their political party activities.

She contended that since women commands greater influence over their opposite sex compatriots, they should do everything within their power to help nib in the bud unpleasant political activities, which could plunge the nation into confusion.

Nana Essamoaba extended the appeal to various traditional councils and benevolent societies to help educate the electorate on the need to contain their composures when canvassing for votes for their political aspirants.
