The 2016 National Women’s League will enter its final round of matches in the Southern and Northern Sectors this weekend with winners almost known.

The league which is in its fourth season have seen the growth of players and tactics, as well as management, but is still without a sponsor.

Apart from Subayo Golden ladies who have not drawn or won any match at all, most of the clubs have shown brilliance and brought a new level of competition to the league.

The table in both zones saw reshuffles of leaders until match day 12 where Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies maintained the top spot.

The two teams are almost likely to engage each other in the Play-off final for the second year running with Hasaacas Ladies winning the 2015 edition by a lone goal.

But ahead of the final round of matches, Vice Chairperson of the Women’s League Board, Madam Rosalind Amoh has reiterated that her outfit can do more than they’ve done this season if only they had the financial muscle.

“If you look at the league, apart from this season where now, it’s almost concluded, last season we had to wait till the very last matches before we could know who has qualified, and it’s exciting,” she said.

“If you look at the point difference, the goals, and you will realise that it's been tough. Sometimes matches that you expect somebody to win, you get to know the results, and you’re surprised, and that is football.

For us, we are excited because it adds to the further development of the game and another indication that if we get the necessary financial support, we could even do it better than we are doing,” Rosalind Amoh added.

In related news, the National Women’s League play-off final will be played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as a curtain raiser for the MTN FA Cup final between Bechem United and Okwawu United on September 4, 2016.
